Just want to let you know how much I appreciate the classes. My body has not felt this much ease in a long time. I knew I was holding a lot of tension in my ribs, shoulders and neck, but had no idea how to release it. Now it is going week by week. Feldenkrais is so subtle but so powerful. I have been working with Erin for about 2 ½ years now. On a day-long snorkeling cruise I was kicking with fins on and thinking "boy, this is hard." Then I thought of all the work we do in Feldenkrais with the ribs, with having choices, and with using our whole body to move and I thought, "Oh! I can use my hips, ribs and torso to help!" And I just started kicking from my hips, moving my ribs, and letting my shoulders help. I was able to paddle about for an hour or more without feeling any strain.

Lately when running downhill I find my legs won't just flow down the hill. They behave as though I have the brakes on and hold myself back from truly running down the hill. Working with Erin in a private session and this miraculously went away. I was able to run downhill with my legs continually turning over.

This holiday season, our family of ten gathered together at our daughter's house in Kansas City. As a group activity, we decided to go ice skating. I (approaching 70) agreed to skate. Not having been on ice skates for 25 years or more, I was somewhat fearful of falling. I started out very cautious and stiff. All of a sudden, I had a Feldenkrais awe/aww moment and started engaging my movements by focusing on my ribs and torso, which allowed me to be more fluid and relaxed. I can truly say that my participation in the Feldenkrais method has given me new ways to enjoy life.

I have been in several minor car accidents and have had chiropractic and yoga to help regain balance. I have only taken five classes in the Feldenkrais Method and already I have more flexibility and correctness of the spine than yoga and chiropractic combined. Since I haven't had a session with you in a while, I have become more aware of the difference I felt when working with you. I just did your asymmetrical pelvic clock exercise and what a difference I feel. Amazing. Something has been "off" in my pelvis since I fell down the stairs many years ago. I have been attending Erin's classes for 14 months because of a severe hip problem (my right hip movement is quite restricted and painful). Within a short time after attending the Feldenkrais classes, my hip mobility improved and my pain diminished more and more!
